Hi, my name is Chantel Gant, and I am a licensed professional counselor-board-approved supervisor, licensed addiction counselor, and national certified counselor. I graduated from the ΠΗΜ½ΒιΆΉ with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a Master of Education in professional counseling from the University of Georgia. I am a doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision. I have worked for 14 years in the counseling profession and 12 years at the Office of Counseling & Wellness at Xavier. My primary areas of providing counseling include relationship issues, academics, familial issues, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, and depression. I have prior experience working in the substance abuse counseling field. My other experience includes providing wellness programming, primarily presentations and organizing behavioral health, prevention, and holistic wellness events. I have supervised master’s level practicum and internship students in clinical mental health and school counseling. My experiences include presenting for various programs, including the ΠΗΜ½ΒιΆΉ Higher Education Coalition Summit, Student National Medical Association, and SAMHSA BRSS TACS Recovery Live! Webinar.
I view counseling from a growth-oriented lens for clients to gain insight regarding self, feel a sense of affirmation, and recognize their therapeutic progress through a facilitative counseling process with counselor.
